🍉 VanGran4Pal Community Newsletter (November 18, 2025)

Neighbours and friends,

We have an important action for you to take today! In direct contradiction to our government’s many claims that Canadian military exports are not being used in this genocide, the new report exposes shipments of vital components of both Israel’s fighter jets and the bombs they are still dropping on Gaza.

Please email your MP tonight! Tomorrow, November 19th, the No More Loopholes Bill will have its first debate in the House of Commons. This bill is a serious legislative effort to close the loopholes that continue to allow Canadian weapons to reach Israel via the U.S. We need your help to ensure this report creates the political crisis necessary to bring about real change and support for passing this bill.

In Gaza, we have been following news of the UN Security Council resolution to establish a governing board and an international stabilization force in the region. To be skeptical of this plan is absolutely justified and what we are hearing from Palestinian factions and people on the ground is a feeling of mistrust, uncertainty and for many an outright rejection of the resolution: it continues to deny and/or restrict the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, whilst simultaneously ignoring root causes like ending Israeli occupation, and not offering a meaningful path forward towards Palestinian statehood.

At a local level, there are ongoing actions and events bringing the community together in support of Palestine. Scroll down and add them to your calendar, and come join your community - resist the urge to hibernate all winter! We need to connect and not isolate in the winter months. Together we are stronger.

Lastly, you may have been following the Vancouver City Council budget news. We recognize the interconnectedness of many societal issues and hope that you will be raising your voices and sending a letter in opposition to the proposed cuts to city staff, services, and programs.

About
Apple has become a symbol of reckless consumerism – releasing a new phone every year, while ignoring death and exploitation behind its supply chain in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Every iPhone sold and every iPhone bought is stained with Congolese blood. Apple’s financial support for the Friends of the IDF is also fueling the colonial occupation of Palestine. Join the global movement to take action against Apple and boycott new iPhones.

International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People 🇵🇸 | November 29

Date and time
Saturday, November 29 (Time TBA).

Location
Exact location TBA.

About
The people of the world have stood with Palestine for over two years, and we’re not stopping. Since the ceasefire announcement, Israel has massacred hundreds of Palestinians in Gaza, attacked the West Bank, and continued its abuse, torture and killing of Palestinian prisoners.

A two-way arms embargo is our movement’s unchanged demand, the only guarantee of ending Israel’s mass murder of Palestinians and systematic theft of our land. So long as weapons and aid flow to Israel, the Zionist occupation will carry on with its genocidal, expansionist project in the region.

On November 29th, we take to the streets. From wherever we are, we will demand an arms embargo now. We will continue confronting Zionism and holding those in power to account for as long as it takes. The struggle continues this November 29 — we’ll see you on the streets!

Community Spotlights

Save Mosab and his Family to leave and rebuild their life.

Please consider donating to the Save Mosab & His Family campaign, which is raising funds so Mosab’s family can rebuild their lives. Mosab has lost 25 family members in the genocide, and he is the sole provider for his remaining family of 11, who is still in Gaza, including his ill father and two young sisters. Mosab and his loved ones are striving for safety and stability, and every dollar helps them move closer to a new beginning.

Support Yasmeen's family in rebuilding their life.

Yasmeen and her three children were forced to flee their home in Gaza after it was destroyed. Having lost everything, Yasmeen’s family needs urgent help to rebuild — please donate or share their story to help give them a safe foundation again. This GoFundMe is raising money for them to rent a house, restart their lives, and register their kids in school.

Sikh Displacement Project

Our community member is currently assisting a man who settled in Canada but is in urgent need to cover medical and legal expenses after an injury at his workplace.

The Sikh Displacement Project supports Sikhs displaced from Panjab with immediate aid while documenting their stories. Your contribution will directly impact this man’s life, offering him hope and stability after years of displacement. Every dollar helps bridge the gap created by borders and strengthens our community’s resilience.

We’re urgently trying to raise $3,000 to respond to his emergency needs.
